Unique gelatin silver print
10 X 8 inches (25.4 X 20.3 cm), print size
Auction estimate: $15,000

Gift of James Hedges and courtesy of Gagosian Gallery

This unique silver gelatin print by Andy Warhol was taken in a hotel in Toledo, Spain
in 1983. Warhol's 35 mm camera, often called 'his date', was with him at all times.
His keen eye cast an exacting gaze on his surroundings, and when he traveled and
found himself in hotels he loved to photograph recurrent themes: room service
trays, toilets, phones, and glamorous hotel lobby chandeliers.
A selection of photographs from Paris in 1980 and 1981 will be on view in the
Gagosian Gallery booth during Paris Photo Los Angeles from April 25-28.
Andy Warhol was born in 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the progenitor of Pop Art
and unarguably the most influential artist of the 20th century.
